FAQ's

Here is where I do my best to help you understand the creative process and any other useful questions you have left by email.

What is Lampworking? TOP
Lampworking is the process of using glass rods melted in a torch till molten to wind around a steel mandrel to create a bead, vessel, or other object.

What is Annealing? TOP
Annealing is the process in which glass is slowly cooled at a controlled rate according the type of glass to prevent any internal stresses and thermal shock. This can only be properly acheived using a kiln designed for glass. Beware if someone says their pieces are "flame annealed" or Annealed in a fiber blanket these DO NOT remove stresses and shock and a bead may look fine and then one day break for no reason!

Are all your Beads Annealed? TOP
YES!!!! I soak each piece over night in a computer controlled kiln to ensure that any unnecessary stresses have been removed. I also take the time check each bead throughly and clean it making sure that there are no cracks or stress points.

Can you make Custom Jewelry from your Beads? TOP
Yes, however since each need is different I will correspond with you seperately and send you an invoice via paypal once the intial design is decided upon. I require a non-refundable deposit which varies based on the piece and cost due upon acceptance of design and the balance due upon completion prior to shipping. I use only high quality components with my Handmade Beads.

Can you ever duplicate a set? TOP
Yes and No. I will try my best to create a set that has the same design and color scheme however, no two beads will ever be exactly alike. Colors from time to time are also one-of-a-kind and may be unavailable. I also have some pieces that have had such artistic inspiration that I prefer not to create a duplicate and label such pieces in the catalog. Email me if you ever have any questions on set.

Do you ship Internationally? TOP
No. I only ship to the US and Canada and only accept payment in US funds.

How do you photograph your beads? TOP

I do all of my photography in natural lighting I feel that this is a great way to get "true" color.  I also do all the photography myself and although I am far from a professional one I try to capture all the detail needed to show you an accurate photo of the bead or piece.
